Joe Heath is a big fan of comic books and watching things in order. So they made this spreadsheet containing every serial, short, film, television episode, commercial, motion comic, and web series based on a comic book. Now they're watching them all. Previously, Joe watched the fifth chapter of The Vigilante. This time, they vigilantly continue with the sixth.
The Vigilante: “Chapter Six: Battling the Unknown” - 17:30

At some point, Greg changes into the Vigilante and takes out the henchmen. Then he saves Betty from the gorilla by tying him up and putting him back in his cage. Then Betty faints and passes out, which I don’t buy at all. We already saw her stop a runaway stagecoach! She’s tough!
The next day, Greg and Betty go to the police station to convict the henchman that tried to steal her horse. Pierce also shows up but says he’s never seen this guy before. The henchman also refuses to say who he’s working for. Well, actually he says he works for “John Doe” which made me laugh.
X1 wants his henchman released from prison and figures his henchmen can steal Police Captain Riley’s horse while they’re at it. The henchmen go over their plans and one of them says “I’ve got the routine so well, I can do it backwards.” To which his partner replies “You probably will.” Which also made me laugh.
Greg, Stuff, and Riley all conveniently go to get some dinner, giving the henchmen time to execute their plan.
The henchmen pretend to have car trouble to lure out a police guard, then fight their way inside and break out the imprisoned henchman. Then they steal the horse.
Why was Riley keeping his horse at the police station? Was he riding it into work? Did he make it a police horse? Does a police horse have to go to a police horse academy? Is there a horse Michael Winslow that makes cool noises in the police horse academy? Is there a horse Steve Guttenberg who goes on to star in Three Stallions and a Foal? Does horse Bobcat Goldthwaite make a movie about a horse stockbroker who teams up with a talking human? Have I uncovered the HCU (Horse Cinematic Universe)? Am I overthinking this? Should I stop horsing around? Yes.
Anyway, Greg, Stuff, and Riley return from their meal and find out the prisoner was released and the horse was stolen. Greg gets on his motorcycle and drives out in the direction the henchmen were seen leaving.
The henchmen soon notice they are being followed, so two of them get out of their vehicle and set up a rope across the street. Greg drives into it and his motorcycle goes flying off the mountain.
Should you watch it, though? I don’t like Betty passing out and I don’t know why Riley keeps his horse at the police station, but there’s some good jokes and a fun energy in general.
Tune in next time for The Vigilante: "Chapter Seven: Midnight Rendezvous"
