Joe Heath is a big fan of comic books and watching things in order. So they made this spreadsheet containing every serial, short, film, television episode, commercial, motion comic, and web series based on a comic book. Now they're watching them all. Previously, Joe watched the ninth chapter of Captain America. This time, they continue with the tenth.
Captain America: “Chapter Ten: The Avenging Corpse” - 15:35 (Available on Archive)

Cap knocks out the random henchman, grabs Gail, and gets out of the barn before it explodes. He doesn’t rescue the henchman when he probably could have, so I’m counting it.

A newspaper article says that a scientist from the expedition, Lyman (but not the same Lyman from Chapter One who made the Vibrator), has discovered a way to bring the dead back to life and there’s going to be a demonstration. Grant calls Lyman (Robert Frazer) to say it’s a bad idea to do something so public with the Scarab at large, but Lyman isn’t worried.
The Scarab goes to the demonstration of this resurrection device to see if it works. And if it does, he’ll steal it.
Lyman does a Frankenweenie on a dead dog and... it works!

Frightened and confused by his very existence, the dog jumps out of a window and runs outside. Grant follows through the window to try and catch him. While he’s out, The Scarab’s men come in and steal the resurrection device and the serum that powers it.
Grant finally returns and shoots one of the henchmen.

Grant gets in his car and chases down the rest of the henchmen as the driver chucks grenades at him. One of the grenades takes out a bridge, forcing Grant to pull over.

Grant returns to the demonstration to see that everyone’s been tied up. While Grant tends to an “injured” Maldor, Gail tells Grant what happened and that Lyman was kidnapped. Grant tells her that he found a key in the dead henchman’s pocket and is gonna track it down. Maldor, overhearing all of this, sets a trap at the building the key unlocks.
Gail goes into the building alone, as Grant falls back to see if anyone is watching the place. He also changes into his Captain America costume because he loves it so much.
Cap sneaks up on Matson and a random henchman who are about to set off some dynamite connected to the building Gail is inside. Cap fights them and chases Matson to the top of a large wooden structure, just so he can do his patented Punch-A-Guy-So-He-Falls-To-His-Death routine.

The henchman on the ground starts shooting at him, so Captain America does his other patented move: Shooting A Guy. (Tying with Spy Smasher’s Kill Count record as he does so.)

As the henchman dies, he falls down on the dynamite plunger, exploding the building.
Should you watch it, though? Bringing a dead dog back to life is so delightfully bonkers, especially considering how nonchalant everyone seems to be about it. Though I was really hoping the dog was going to be the avenging corpse. Honestly, everything in this chapter that’s not about the dog pales in comparison.
Tune in next time for Captain America: "Chapter Eleven: The Dead Man Returns" (Available on Archive.)
