Consume All Media! Superman: "Chapter Seven: Into the Electric Furnace!"

Joe Heath is a big fan of comic books and watching things in order. So they made this spreadsheet containing every serial, short, film, television episode, commercial, motion comic, and web series based on a comic book. Now they're watching them all. Previously, Joe watched the sixth chapter of Superman. This time, they continue with the seventh.

Superman: “Chapter Seven: Into the Electric Furnace!” - 15:41 (Available on Amazon)

Superman stops the car from going over the edge.

He does this a lot, huh?
He does this a lot, huh?

Superman turns Lois into a cartoon and he flies away with her.

Back at the Planet, Perry is angry that Clark didn’t listen to him and the story went awry. But Lois actually sticks up for Clark! Growth!! They are so damn cute!!!

Spider Lady tells Hackett about the kryptonite and asks for help defeating Superman. They come up with a plan to lure Superman out by kidnapping his friend, Clark Kent. So they force Hawkins to call Clark and say that he has some information. But he gets Lois instead, who says she will most definitely tell Clark where to meet him.

Lois and Jimmy head out to a park where some henchmen grab Jimmy thinking that he’s Clark. Lois chases them, but gets a flat tire.

The henchmen soon realize they’ve got Jimmy Olsen and adjust their plans accordingly. They call Clark and tell him they’ve got Jimmy, but they’ll trade him for a meeting with Superman.

Clark goes to meet the henchmen, but Lois follows because of course she does.

Clark gets into a car with a henchman and tells them Superman will show up if they free Jimmy by midnight.

The henchmen take Clark to where they’re holding Jimmy. They show Clark the kryptonite they plan to use on Superman. For some reason? Bragging, I guess.

Midnight rolls around and Superman doesn’t show up. Clark says “That’s because you didn’t release Jimmy, ya dingus!” Then he tries to grab the box of kryptonite and is knocked out by the henchmen. Note, he is not being affected by the kryptonite here. It’s in the box. He’s fine. Why is he letting these guys knock him around? There’s plenty he could do without revealing that he’s Superman! Don’t be the tornado scene in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel!

Anyway, Jimmy frees himself and tries to run. But he also gets knocked out and is thrown onto an incinerator belt. Things are heating up now!

Should you watch it, though? The logic in this one gets a little fuzzy. While it’s one of the weaker chapters, it’s still enjoyable. I love the henchmen’s confusion surrounding Clark, Jimmy, and Superman.

Tune in next time for Superman: "Chapter Eight: Superman to the Rescue" (Available on Amazon)
