Consume All Media! Spy Smasher "Chapter Five: Descending Doom"

Joe Heath is a big fan of comic books and watching things in order. So they made this spreadsheet containing every serial, short, film, television episode, commercial, motion comic, and web series based on a comic book. Now they're watching them all. Previously, Joe watched the fourth chapter of smashing spies. This time, they continue with the fifth chapter.

Spy Smasher "Chapter Five: Descending Doom" - 16:48 (Available on YouTube.)

Oh wait, Spy Smasher parachuted out of the Bat Plane before it crashed.

Now he’s just tied with Captain Marvel. Gonna have to try a little harder, Spy Smasher.

Later, Drake films Admiral Corby recounting the heroic deeds of Spy Smasher. Afterwards, Drake calls into The Mask who says they need to kidnap Corby as he’s the only connection to Spy Smasher.

The Mask’s men call Corby pretending to be Spy Smasher. Corby falls for this completely and they set a lunch date at a hotel café. Jack hears about this and calls Alan to see what’s up. Alan says he would never date Corby, so he heads over to the hotel to check it out.

Corby meets “Spy Smasher” at the café and is gassed by a fake cigarette lighter. Another of The Mask’s men pretends to be a doctor and they take him to a nearby room. When they are alone, they sneak Corby out through the window.

Spy Smasher shows up and has a couple of fight scenes before also going through the window. A car chase/shootout ensues. Spy Smasher’s car is run off of the road and he is knocked unconscious. After getting a peek at his face, The Mask’s men load him into their car.

But when they arrive at their hideout, they discover that Spy Smasher is no longer unconscious and another fight scene ensues. After knocking them out, he makes his way inside the hideout and starts shooting the place up.

In the confusion, Corby manages to break himself free and escape out of a window.

Trying to escape, Spy Smasher jumps down an elevator shaft. One of the bad guys presses a button and lowers an elevator on top of him.

Should you watch it, though? I continue to be impressed by the bad guys in this. They pulled off the kidnapping of Corby with relative ease. I’m also loving the choreography of the fight scenes! It really… elevates… the material.

Tune in next time for Spy Smasher "Chapter Six: The Invisible Witness" (Available on YouTube.)
