Joe Heath is a big fan of comic books and watching things in order. So they made this spreadsheet containing every serial, short, film, television episode, commercial, motion comic, and web series based on a comic book. Now they're watching them all. Previously, Joe watched the sixth chapter of Hop Harrigan. This time, they continue with the seventh.
Hop Harrigan: “Chapter Seven: One Chance for Life” - 18:51 (Available on Dailymotion)

The serial cheats a little and we see the car drive out of the other side of the haystack before it catches on fire. Still not sure why it caught on fire, though.
Tank ineptly changes the tire. Comedy! But… you know… not really.
Now that there are two cars, Hunter’s men split up so Hop can only follow one of them. Jackie offers to parachute out and jump on one of the cars, but Hop says that would be much too exciting for this serial. Instead, Hop just keeps an eye on both cars… somehow??
Hunter thinks his men have lost the plane, but warms up the Ray Gun, just in case. Which pans out because they didn’t lose Hop. But then it doesn’t pan out when it explodes and kills the operator.

Turns out, Tobor tampered with it. He tries to escape in the confusion, but is quickly caught. No fun allowed in this serial!
Hop returns to the hangar and says he found Hunter’s hideout. In an uncharacteristically smart moment, Tank says they shouldn’t tell Arnold, because any time they have before, something comes up. They decide to catch Hunter first, then tell Arnold.
Hop and Tank make their way on foot to the hideout and come across Hop’s car. (Hunter’s men have Hop’s car due to the overcomplicated shuffling around of objects and characters). But Hop thinks it’s a trap and it is. He deactivates the bomb in the engine. NO FUN ALLOWED IN THIS SERIAL.
Then Tank fights a couple of henchmen as Hop watches from behind a tree. Hop sneaks inside the hideout and is fooled by a pair of shoes hiding behind a curtain. Hunter even calls him out on how stupid he is as he points a gun at him. The henchmen outside knock out Tank and take him inside.
Hunter calls Hop and Tank trespassers. But he’s gonna let him go. WHY? He says he’s going to give them to the count of 10 and then he’ll start shooting. WHY?? JUST SHOOT THEM! Villains are so stupid.
Anyway, they start running and Hunter starts shooting before he gets to 10. Tank goes down. Hooray!
Should you watch it, though? Tobor gets to have a little fun and commit a little murder, but that’s about it. There’s a brief fight scene that’s okay, but Hop doesn’t get involved in it at all. He’s so useless.
Tune in next time for Hop Harrigan: "Chapter Eight: White Fumes of Fate" (Available on Dailymotion.)
