Consume All Media! Blackhawk: "Chapter Five: Human Targets!"

Joe Heath is a big fan of comic books and watching things in order. So they made this spreadsheet containing every serial, short, film, television episode, commercial, motion comic, and web series based on a comic book. Now they're watching them all. Previously, Joe watched the fourth chapter of Blackhawk. This time, they continue with the fifth chapter.

Blackhawk: “Chapter Five: Human Targets!” - 15:14 (Available on Dailymotion)

To further illustrate how unoriginal Blackhawk is, this is the third time this chapter title has been used in a comic book serial. Adventures of Captain Marvel and Spy Smasher had a "Human Targets" and "Human Target" chapter, respectively.

Speaking of human targets, the train hits the Blackhawks!

But only a little. Calm down. They're fine.

The henchmen get Dr. Rolph to their hideout and find out that the thing they thought was his science ray is actually just a big ol' box of rocks. So they decide to keep him prisoner until he builds them a new ray.

There is a scene where the Blackhawks discuss how the various villain hideouts they've been to all look identical on the inside. This gets brought up nearly every time they go to a new hideout (which is way more often than you'd expect). While the real answer behind this is probably because it was the only set the production could afford, the reason we are given in the story is... well... never given. It's constantly pointed out, but never explained. It is the most frustrating part of this whole serial, which is already chock full of frustration.

The henchmen track down the Blackhawks who are picking up the real ray. After a chase and some gassing, the henchmen successfully steal it.

The henchmen leave with the ray, but Blackhawk had already taken a vital piece out of it, so it doesn't work.

The Blackhawks follow the henchmen back to their hideout and sneak their way in. The henchmen hear them stumbling around in the other room. They turn their attention away from Dr. Rolph, who turns the ray on, hurting not only the henchmen, but the Blackhawks as well.

Hooray?
Hooray?

Should you watch it, though? Not much happens, though I like that the cliffhanger kind of puts everyone in jeopardy.
