Joe Heath is a big fan of comic books and watching things in order. So they made this spreadsheet containing every serial, short, film, television episode, commercial, motion comic, and web series based on a comic book. Now they're watching them all. Previously, Joe watched the ninth chapter of Batman. This time, they continue with the tenth.
Batman: “Chapter Ten: Flying Spies” - 17:38 (Available on Archive)

Release date: September 17th, 1943
Batman rolls out of the way of the gangplank and is fine. He then finds Robin in a net. I have no idea how Robin got there because the last we saw him, he was diving into the water. I guess he got picked up off-screen? Either way, Batman saves him from being sold at the fish market.
Meanwhile, Daka wants to steal some radium. Again. But this time it’s gonna be stolen from a plane! But this is completely different from the last plane heist! I promise! You see, a guy is going to drop it out of the plane for them. Totally different!
Daka also wants to recruit some new henchmen because they keep dropping like flies (though I have to stress, Batman hasn’t killed any of them).
Bruce goes undercover as Chuck White again and heads back to the Sphinx Club. He says he was looking for work and only ran because the Batman scared him off. So a guy takes Chuck to a place where someone is looking for hired goons. Chuck sits in a waiting room, while Daka spies on him through the eyeholes of a painting.

This predates Scooby Doo meeting Batman by almost 30 years.
Daka approves of Chuck and he joins his henchmen in setting up a flare for the radium drop-off.

Yeah. The guy in the plane is totally gonna see that. Prove me wrong, scientists.
Chuck tries to sneak away, but is caught. Chuck punches some dudes and runs off. He locates Dick by exchanging bird calls and they change into Batman and Robin.
They come back and do some more punching and Batman steals their car.

The henchmen shoot the car’s tire and Batman swerves off the road. The car immediately explodes.

Like… it kind of explodes before it really even hits anything? I guess cars were made different back then. Anyway, I'm pretty sure Batman is actually dead this time. I don’t see a way out of this.

Goodbye, Batman. I guess it really is up to Robin now.
Should you watch it, though? Is it bad that I’m more excited to see Chuck White than I am Batman? He was the only thing keeping my interest in this chapter. That and the Scooby Doo painting.
Tune in next time for Batman: "Chapter Eleven: A Nipponese Trap" (Available on Archive.)
