Consume All Media! Batman and Robin: "Chapter Three: Robin's Wild Ride"

Joe Heath is a big fan of comic books and watching things in order. So they made this spreadsheet containing every serial, short, film, television episode, commercial, motion comic, and web series based on a comic book. Now they're watching them all. Previously, Joe watched the second chapter of Batman and Robin. This time, they continue with the third chapter.

Batman barely ducks off the side of the train before he goes into the tunnel.

The Wizard stops the train remotely. Batman, Robin, and a random worker on the train attempt to fight the henchmen, but they all get knocked out. The henchmen get away with the X90. But when they drop it off with the Wizard, it turns out they forgot to get the detonators, so the X90 is useless. Just like everyone in this serial.

Later, Brown announces on the radio that the inventor of X90 is in town. He even specifies the hotel and room number. Not at all suspicious.

Vicki Vale gets there before the henchmen do, but when they do show up, they throw Vicki in a closet and grab the inventor, Wesley Morton (Marshall Bradford).

Actor Highlights

Marshall Bradford (1885-1971)

Other comic book media credits: Mr. Taylor in Atom Man vs. Superman (1950), Malcolm Smith in Blackhawk (1952), & Sir Arthur in the 1958 episode of Adventures of Superman “The Last Knight”

The henchmen take Morton to a cabin in the middle of nowhere. The Wizard appears in a doorway and asks him for the detonators. He uses some magically blinking eyes to try and convince him.

It's super effective!

Vicki gets out of the closet and goes to Bruce. While she's filling him in on what happened, the Bat Signal goes off and Bruce excuses himself to take vitamins. Which is one of the most hilarious excuses I've ever seen to ditch someone. It reminds me of this other Bat(e)man's excuse:

The Wizard's henchmen steal a truck, then steal the detonators. But Batman and Robin are on the case!

After a decent car chase and an okay fight scene, The Wizard electrifies a crowbar that Batman is holding.

Then he falls off a cliff.

Should you watch it, though? Bruce and Dick continue to be incredibly boring, but The Wizard is slightly more interesting! The plot is moderately interesting and there's a couple of goofy moments I enjoyed. But I have no idea what wild ride Robin went on.

Tune in next time for Batman and Robin: "Chapter Four: Batman Trapped!" (Available on Amazon.)
