Consume All Media! Batman and Robin: "Chapter Eight: Robin Meets the Wizard!"

Joe Heath is a big fan of comic books and watching things in order. So they made this spreadsheet containing every serial, short, film, television episode, commercial, motion comic, and web series based on a comic book. Now they're watching them all. Previously, Joe watched the seventh chapter of Batman and Robin. This time, they continue with the eighth chapter.

Batman and Harrison crawl out of the wreckage of the building. Apparently, they ducked into the cellar before the explosion, so they're fine.

Vicki takes everyone's picture, then Batman takes Harrison into Gotham.

After a very long repeat of the submarine sequence, the henchmen inform the Wizard that Batman and Harrison are definitely 100% completely dead. So the Wizard demands a ransom of $5 million or he'll mess up the trains.

Batman has arranged for the Wizard to be paid with money that was scheduled to be destroyed anyway. Also, for giggles, the money has been made radioactive, so they can follow it with a Geiger counter. This is how you get supervillains, Batman.

Batman also says that if the money is exposed to air, it will just catch on fire and burn away. Can't foresee that having any negative consequences.

The money is dropped out of a train and spotted by Jimmy flying his plane. He relays this info to henchmen on the ground.

Meanwhile, Batman and Robin are flying their own plane nearby and Batman parachutes out.

Once he lands, he hides in the trunk of the henchmen's car as they're busy grabbing the money.

Robin lands the plane and follows by car.

I'm not sure why they needed the plane at all, to be honest. Batman could have just hidden somewhere nearby. Seems less conspicuous than a giant parachute coming out of the sky.

Doesn't work anyway as the henchmen swap the money into a different car, then run the car with Batman in it off of a cliff. Batman manages to jump out of the trunk before the car goes over the edge. What, are we just doing cliffhangers in the middle of chapters now?

Robin picks up Batman and they follow the radiation to a warehouse.

While Batman sneaks inside the warehouse, the Wizard sneaks up behind Robin and knocks him out. I guess this is the titular meeting between Robin and the Wizard.

Inside the warehouse, Batman gets in a fight with the henchmen. In the struggle, the radioactive money gets exposed and catches the entire warehouse on fire. Who could have seen that coming?

One of the henchmen chucks a hammer at Batman, leaving him unconscious in a burning building.

Should you watch it, though? Most of this makes no sense at all, but it's honestly kind of fun. Or maybe I'm just Stockholming myself.

Tune in next time for Batman and Robin: "Chapter Nine: The Wizard Strikes Back!" (Available on Amazon.)
