Consume All Media! Atom Man vs. Superman: "Chapter Two: Atom Man Appears!"

Joe Heath is a big fan of comic books and watching things in order. So they made this spreadsheet containing every serial, short, film, television episode, commercial, motion comic, and web series based on a comic book. Now they're watching them all. Previously, Joe watched the first chapter of Atom Man vs. Superman. This time, they continue with the second chapter.

The henchmen and Jimmy are teleported away before the truck explodes.

Jimmy then meets the titular villain, Atom Man.

His helmet looks as if it is covered in glitter and I love it. Also, it's clearly Luthor underneath the helmet, even if he puts on a vague German accent while wearing it. Still, it's marginally better than just putting on glasses and calling it a day.

Anyway, the Atom Man gives Jimmy a tour of his hideout. He tells Jimmy that he wants to talk to Superman, then teleports him back to the Daily Planet.

Luthor's henchmen watch Jimmy convey this message to Lois and Clark from a TV truck parked outside. The truck has a camera that also has x-ray vision that can zoom in and out and all around. They use it to watch Lois lock Jimmy's teleportation coin in a safe.

In a completely random scene, Superman saves a ship on fire.

This kind of scene is going to happen a lot. It kind of already happened in the first chapter with the bridge disaster, but at least that was connected to the ongoing plot. This is just shoehorned in to pad out the chapter.

Some henchmen go into the Daily Planet to "check the wiring" and try to get the coin out of the safe. They are stopped by Perry, so they knock him out. Clark chases them out onto the roof. They jump off and are teleported mid-fall.

Don't try this at home.

Back in their truck and using their fancy camera, they overhear that Lois has the coin. They go to find her.

Lois winds up driving into a blast area while being followed by the henchmen. Superman throws the bomb away from Lois and tells her she's "treading on dangerous ground."

Then he grabs the henchmen's car.

He just really loves grabbing cars.

He knocks out the henchman, ties them up, and flies off with Lois.

Back at the Planet, Superman gets a real good look at the coin.

Like a real good look.

He takes it for further study.

Later, Lois takes a tip meant for Clark about a window washer falling from a building without being hurt. But when she goes to check it out, it's obviously a henchman. They want the coin, but she gives them a fight. She holds her own pretty well!

Superman sees this with his x-ray vision and tries to fly in to save her, but the henchmen in the TV truck shoot him with something that causes him to drop from the sky.

Unable to be rescued, Lois falls out of the window.

Should you watch it, though? This chapter is a bit better with the introduction of the Atom Man, the teleportation hi-jinx, and Lois being awesome. The boat fire is completely unnecessary, though.
