Consume All Media! Batman: "Chapter Fourteen: The Executioner Strikes"

Joe Heath is a big fan of comic books and watching things in order. So they made this spreadsheet containing every serial, short, film, television episode, commercial, motion comic, and web series based on a comic book. Now they're watching them all. Previously, Joe watched the thirteenth chapter of Batman. This time, they continue with the fourteenth.

Release date: October 15th, 1943

Robin throws Batman a crowbar and he wedges it between the walls and climbs out.

Daka goes to collect Batman and is shocked to find he’s not there. So he sets off a bomb, sealing off that entryway from Batman and Robin.

Some henchmen spot Robin getting into Bruce’s car and they chase it down. But when they pull it over, they only see Bruce inside. So they leave, but Bruce chases them down. He changes into Batman, knocks the henchmen out, and takes them to the Bat’s Cave.

They have more than enough information to piece together that Bruce Wayne is Batman. But this thought never occurs to them.

Bruce gets a note from Linda that he’s pretty sure is a trap. So he walks right into it and immediately gets knocked out. Some henchmen put Batman in a box (without checking his secret identity this time) and deliver him to Daka under the guise of it being a new exhibit for the carnival of horrors.

Then Batman is thrown to the alligators.

As you can see, the box hits one of the alligators on the head. I was more concerned for the alligator’s safety than Batman’s.

Should you watch it, though? This is the most filler-filled chapter so far. It basically begins and ends with Batman at Daka’s hideout, so very little has progressed plotwise. The cliffhanger is okay, but we’ve seen people being thrown to the alligators already, so it’s nothing new. And it feels like a retread of the cliffhanger from the last chapter.
